Oodles of Doodles IL

Our Puppy Development Program
At Oodles of Doodles IL, we believe that exceptional puppies are created through intentional early development. Not by chance.
The first eight weeks of a puppy's life are among the most influential in shaping temperament, confidence, adaptability, and future success. That's why we follow a comprehensive Puppy Development Program designed to nurture each puppy's physical, emotional, and social growth from the very beginning.
Days 3-16: Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
Beginning in the first days of life, we implement Early Neurological Stimulation exercises designed to encourage neurological development, resilience, stress tolerance, and adaptability.
Puppies are gently handled daily and introduced to a variety of age-appropriate sensory experiences.
Weeks 2-4: Early Socialization & Sensory Development
As puppies begin opening their eyes and interacting with their environment, we introduce new textures, sounds, scents, and experiences.
These early exposures help develop curiosity, confidence, and healthy responses to new situations.
Weeks 4-6: Confidence Building & Exploration
As mobility increases, puppies are introduced to:
• Various floor and surface textures
• Age-appropriate toys and obstacles
• Household noises and daily family activities
• Increased interaction with children and adults
This stage encourages exploration while building confidence and problem-solving skills.
Weeks 5-7: Foundations for Family Life
During this period we begin introducing:
• Crate exposure
• Potty training foundations
• Grooming preparation
• Individual attention away from littermates
• Structured play and learning opportunities
These experiences help create smoother transitions into future homes.
Weeks 7 and Up: Real-World Socialization
One of the unique aspects of our program is exposing puppies to carefully selected real-world experiences before they go home.
Depending on age, health, and scheduling, puppies may participate in experiences such as:
• Puppy yoga sessions
• School visits and family events
• Children's sporting events
• Shopping outings and public exposure
• Nursing home visits
• Car rides and new environments
These experiences help develop confidence and adaptability while creating positive associations with the world around them.
Health & Veterinary Care
Our commitment to puppy health begins immediately.
Each puppy receives:
• Dewclaw removal within the first few days of life
• Regular preventative deworming
• Veterinary wellness examination
• Age-appropriate vaccinations
• Microchip identification
• Comprehensive health records
Our goal is simple: to provide every puppy with the strongest possible foundation so they can confidently transition into their forever home and thrive as beloved family companions.
